From 1907 to the shore of Lake Como

Como 1907 facts start on 25 May 1907, when the club was founded as Como Foot-Ball Club. Since 1928, it has played home matches at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia, giving the team a long home base beside its own football history.

The club reached Italy’s top tier for the first time in the 1913–14 Prima Categoria. That early leap was followed by a standout 1930–31 Prima Divisione campaign, when Como went undefeated through the regular season and the promotion play-offs.

The blue identity and an early trophy

Como’s nickname, Biancoblù, came from the club’s return to royal blue in the third millennium. That color identity sits alongside one of the club’s early trophies: the Coppa Volta in 1926–27, won after beating Inter and Genoa.

Those milestones belong to different eras, but they give the club a clear thread through its history. The colors, the stadium, and the trophy list all connect the old Como with the version that later fought its way back into the elite.

Bankruptcy, rebirth, and the road back up

Como was declared bankrupt in 2004 and excluded from professional league participation. After being re-established as a new entity, it re-entered competition in Serie D and began climbing again from there.

The modern turning point came in 2019, when the Hartono brothers acquired the club through Djarum Group. In August 2022, Cesc Fàbregas arrived as a minority stakeholder while also playing for the club as a player. Thierry Henry is also among the minority shareholders.

That ownership structure gave Como a different profile, but the football result that mattered most came on 10 May 2024. A 1–1 draw with Cosenza secured the club’s official return to Serie A, ending a 21-year absence from the top flight.

What Como did after reaching Serie A

Como finished 10th in its return season to Serie A. In the 2025–26 season, the club went even higher, placing fourth and qualifying for European competition for the first time since the 1980–81 Mitropa Cup.

That sequence matters because it shows how fast the club’s modern rise accelerated once it got back to the top division. From bankruptcy in 2004 to Serie A qualification in 2024, and then to fourth place in 2025–26, Como’s recent years have been packed with milestones.

The club’s story now combines old foundations, a long home ground, a revived identity in royal blue, and a new era shaped by owners and players with global recognition. That is why Como 1907 has become one of the most discussed names in Italian football.
