Terms of Service

You must be at least 16 years old to create a Quizpato account. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your password secure, and you agree to provide a valid email address and to be responsible for activity under your account. One account per person.

Quizpato is a bilingual (English and Spanish) trivia site: you can read stories, play quizzes across categories such as sports, science, history, art, geography, and entertainment, and — with a free account — save your scores, keep streaks, earn achievements, and compete on leaderboards and in leagues. Quizpato is free to use. Features may change, and we may add, modify, or discontinue parts of the Service.

You agree not to:

• Cheat — use bots, scripts, or other automated tools to answer questions, or use multiple accounts to manipulate scores, ratings, leagues, or leaderboards.
• Choose an alias or upload a profile image that is offensive, hateful, sexually explicit, or impersonates someone else.
• Break the law or infringe others' rights while using the Service.
• Scrape, overload, probe, or attack the Service, or bypass rate limits or security controls.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where allowed by law.
• Resell or commercially exploit the Service or its content without our permission.

We may reset or remove scores obtained in breach of these rules, change an alias or remove an image that breaks them, and suspend the accounts involved.

You may submit content such as question reports, feedback, and contact messages. You keep ownership of what you submit, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, and adapt it to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for what you submit, and we may moderate or remove it.

Our stories and questions are drafted with the help of AI from public sources and are checked before they're published, but they may still contain mistakes or become outdated. Content is provided for entertainment and general information only. If you spot an error, please report the question or contact us — we review every report.

Quizpato is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any league, team, player, organization, or brand mentioned in its content. All names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify them.

Scores, XP, streaks, ratings, leagues, and achievements are part of the game. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and we may adjust them — for example, at the start of a new season, to fix a scoring error, or to remove points obtained by cheating.

The Service, including its software, design, brand, the duck mascot, and the content we create, is owned by Quizpato and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. Sharing a link to a quiz, a story, or your own result is always welcome.

Our stories may link to their sources and to other websites we don't control. Those sites have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for them.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, and accuracy of content. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quizpato will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed USD 100.

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability) will survive.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Costa Rica, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be subject to the courts located there, unless a mandatory law provides otherwise.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
